thinking of things to come

we haven't seen the sun here for a while now. i know it will be back at some stage, but for the moment it is grey, grey, grey and more grey...and also cold. very cold! when it gets to this time of year and on days like this (when all i want to do is crawl back into bed and snuggle up with a good book), i like to think of the things that are to come. just around the corner will be snow and in my mind that makes the coldness worth it. it seems to brighten everything up too, put a nice white glow on everything. its nice. cold but nice!

so, i'm thinking back to previous years about what is to come...

there will be a few of these in the back garden...

followed by some of this fun stuff...

there will be a bit of this going on...

followed swiftly by some of this stuff...well, you need hot chocolate, kinder punch and sugary yummies to warm you up...

there will be some of this purchased...i have a new love for Christmas Stollen...mmmm...

there will be a few late night strolls through the city to take in the magical sights of wintery whiteness against the warm glow of the lights from cafes and restaurants and beautiful old townhouses...

there'll be quite a bit of rugging up going on...brrrrr...

and just a few more of these little fellows too....tiny powdery snow men...so cute!

and the most magical sight of all...seeing the Christmas decorations against the backdrop of a snow filled garden...what a sight for Aussie eyes!

so if i think about all the goodies to come, then winter doesn't seem so bad, and after all...it is our last European winter.

**forgot to mention that the only way i like to view snow is from the inside of my nice, snug and warm home!!
