In my previous post with all my 'ahhhh-ing' and sighing and being grateful about my wintery, lazy, easy weekends spent toasty and warm, curled up on the lounge with the kids, I forgot to mention where our photo was taken. Even though I hate being cold and I'm not a big fan of winter, it is nice to get out and go for an invigorating walk around the city in the snow. And as we didn't get that cover of white gleaming, powdery stuff I was hoping for, I thought I take you on a wander through some previous wintery weekend walks around Munich.
The photos above are from a walk along the rive Isar, which basically runs the length of Munich. We followed it from the Deutsches Museum at one end of the city to the 'Englischer Garten' at the other end of the city (below). At this time of year the English Garden becomes a winter wonderland for children to sled in.
Not far from our apartment is Schloss Nymphenburg (the former Summer Palace of the Bavarian royal family) and it's frozen canal. On weekends it gets a little crazy - ice skaters, ice hockey, sledding and a few curling games going on all at once!
So, there you go... a little weekend walk through my wintery patch of the world.

Oh, and I thought I'd change my header pic from that glorious summer in Sydney photo from our trip home a month ago to a more appropriate one for this time of year on this side of the world!! It was time for a change anyway. And you know what they say, change is as good as a holiday! : )

Love the new header pic Alison - I noticed right away. These winter shots are like a lovely cold drink - so humid here right now :)
PS very telepathic..we just used the same quote in our posts!
Hi Amy, welcome and thanks so much for stopping in and saying hi. I'm loving your 'About Me', wish I could describe myself so succinctly & your photos are wonderful. Nice to meet you : )
Snap on the ''Change is as good as a holiday'', Paula. Actually I've read that a few times this past week. Must be in the air!! Love your latest post. The colours are divine.

Thank you so much for popping into the Fibro today, and leaving such a lovely comment. I'm so glad you've left lurking behind and said hello. Love your blog!
Thanks Allison, I'm feeling rather privileged you've popped by for a visit! Starstruck. Much : )
Hey lovely Alison,
I'm totally with you about snow. It makes winter something to be looked forward to, rather than endless days of greyness. Grey indoors on the walls = good, grey out in the sky = bad!!! Strange but true!!
