a catch up on my week...

It has been a bit of a funny week here. A few upsets with the kids and things not going quite right at school. Things that had I known about as it was happening I could have done something to perhaps avert the situation that, in the end, arose.

It's not much fun to have such unpleasant situations come up when you know they could have been avoided, if you had only been kept in the loop about it from the beginning. Just another reminder that parenting comes in all shapes and sizes and other people can do things so differently to you. You might think you know someone, but you just never can tell the real character of a person can you. Ugh…parenting is such a mixed bag of emotions…oh boy…such a roller coaster ride! What's done is done and now we must stay positive and move forward.

Anyway, what I thought I'd share with you this week are some photos we took from a walk last Saturday when the sun was out…hooray for that sun…so good to see you and so good to have a dose of much needed vitamin D!

I'm starting to think about all the little things I'm going to miss about our neighbourhood here. I'll never have the chance again in my life to step outside my front door...walk for ten minutes and come across a palace, a real palace from days of old.

We took a stroll from our place across to Nymphenburg Palace, just up the road. The canal is still frozen solid in places and there were a few people playing ice hockey and it was also good to see that the swans are back. Spring must be on its way. Swans are just such beautifully elegant creatures, aren't they?

I'm also going to miss seeing these gorgeous big old apartment buildings.  I love to go for a walk and visit these grand old dames. I think I'll start a photo album on all the glorious old buildings in my neighbourhood.

I also need to get a wriggle on with my next road trip holiday adventure that I wanted to share with you - Christmas in Rome. It really was something quite special.

Lets take a stroll along the canal....

And…for my mum, here is a photo of me taken last week. Mum is in respite in the local nursing home, at home. I wanted to put in a recent photo of myself mum, so you didn't forget what I look like! I miss you and I can't wait to sit down and have a cuppa with you one day soon. Love you. Al xx

oh A....
i often think about those moments...
when we can't walk through our little village again...
when we return that we won't walk from inside this gorgeous big old house up to the Green...
we'll just be visitors...
with these words and images you've inspired me to make a photo book of our village life -not just our travelling photos to keep for the children- just daily life that we wont always be part of...

yours looks beautiful!
