sharing is caring...

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”

- Roald Dahl

I've had one of those mornings where I become glued to the computer. I didn't mean to. I have laundry to do, beds to make, groceries to get, lists of things to do in preparation for moving home in four months. But I thought I would just sit down and quickly scan the headlines from the online newspapers at home. And while I'm doing that I'll just click onto my blog and have a bit of a glimpse through any new posts on my favourites...my favourite reading corners.

And that is where I became glued. You know, some days are like that. So many creative people out there doing so many wonderful things. The world of blogging is really something quite special. It can be so amazing that today I just had to share my morning with you. It went something a little like this...

I found this fantastically dreamy imagery of Paris (funnily enough I've been drafting a post on our favourite holidays and Paris is first on my list) via the wonderful Diana at  Express-o ...I love this blog, so much eye candy...mmmm....and this video will definitely have you dreaming of packing your bags and heading for Paris...

After Express-o I stopped in to visit the very talented photographer and writer Susannah Conway and read this guest post by Megg Genge, The mights that live in birds noses. Now this post got me thinking that it was going to be one of those magical days when the planets align and all things in your life that are a bit out of kilter fall into place...well, you know, something like that. Because Megg's guest post with that quirky title really sums up how I'm feeling about life at this very moment. Trying desperately to figure out what is all important in life and what makes us happy...hmmm, I know, very deep and philosophical...need to dig a bit further with that one.

And then from that, small but enlightening, post I also discovered this book, Style Statement: Live by Your Own Design, which is about defining your authentic self.  You can read about it here on Carrie McCarthy's (the author) Style Statement blog. I think I'll be doing some shopping on Amazon shortly!

From there, just another click, following on to another link, led me to Megg Genge's blog Creating Wings, which has just hit my number one favourite blog spot! What an incredibly talented and intuitive person she is. I love that she calls herself a talespinner - ''I write books that take ancient stories and wisdom and help them resonate with a contemporary audience. I want people reading my words to feel like they are sitting beside a campfire at the knees of their ancestors hearing stories that help them make sense of their modern lives.''     That sounds wonderful to me! Can't wait to read some of her work.

So that's my morning in a nutshell! The washing machine finished about an hour ago, the beds are still unmade, groceries are still sitting on the shelves waiting patiently for me. But I've learnt so much in my hour or so long reading session this morning... from wonderful whimsical Parisian imagery to finding inner peace with a Style Statement. What a start to the day. And I'm only half way down my list of favourite blogs!

Oh and here are some more quotes I found on Creating Wings that are tickling my fancy (so to speak)...

Be as healthy, as vibrant, as beautiful, as authentic as you possibly can be, in a way that speaks silently to others, You can be this too.
- Rachel Snyder

Be the enchantress who brings a certain something they can’t quite define, who fills the room with mirth and magic, and who leaves them all a bit befuddled, entirely entranced, and touched by the goddess enchantment.
- Rachel Snyder

“Actually, I think that I might be an elephant. I think I might be much bigger and grander than I thought!”
- Julia Cameron – Walking in this World

“My whole life, I’ve wanted to feel comfortable in my skin. It’s the most liberating thing in the world.”
- Drew Barrymore

There is no such thing as bad weather – only the wrong clothes.
- Billy Connolly
(that one was for you Miss Leanne!)

...there are so, so many more...I wanted to share all of them here, but that would just be a bit too much wouldn't it?  Hope you have a great day too.
