here's a little glimpse from the weekend...

we are loving our new home and this one is a keeper for sure! it's got a great feel to it - yep this one feels like home! and that is saying something coming from a serial mover...i think it's something like 12 moves over the past 16 years! 

ok, so i'm off to climb a ladder and check the gutters...

after another cracker of a storm and a torrential down pour last night we've had water coming in through the living room doors & windows...time to get some leaves out of those gutters! more coffee first though, i think : )

...this is not the way home

With the Harbour Bridge closed for the weekend (due to repairs & maintenance) we took an alternate route to & from the city this weekend. It was nice to get a different perspective on things.

Going for a walk with the kids and their new Chrissy skateboards and being surprised to see a bat in a small tree on the way home...not something we see every day...they are usually hanging around much higher up off the ground! And out of sight! Eeeek!

i'd love to live on the coast, i love the water and to walk along the beach every day would be bliss
but i don't and so i can't
what i do have, however, is to be surrounded by wonderful bush land
so i'm content to have a tree view rather than a sea view when i do a couple of laps of my local park ; )

We took the ferry into the city on Saturday evening to have a look at the Christmas decorations in the Queen Vic building and then to watch the fireworks at Darling Harbour. A great way to spend a Saturday evening and to get into the spirit of the season. I haven't been feeling all that Christmassy of late. This is my first Christmas without mum, so it just hasn't been feeling "right". So I'm trying to shake that feeling and get into a good frame of mind for my own little family and this trip out certainly helped : )

After what seemed like years on end of relentless torrential rain (really only a week, possibly two, but who's counting), let me tell you...it was SO good to see the sun this weekend. Thank you sun. Hoping to see more of you in the future : )

ps i'm loving this view of the bush and sitting on my deck at the moment, sipping a vino in the late afternoon as the sun sets is really very relaxing.  i'm really really going to miss it when we sell. but we will have a new little pocket of the world to call our own, our own little escape from the maddening crowd. And another nice spot to sit and have a vino. so it's all good.
